Avalanche Summary

Steer around very steep slopes with firm wind-drifted snow at upper elevations. These wind-drifted spots are the only places where you can trigger an avalanche. At lower elevations and on sheltered slopes, the snowpack is cohesionless, with no slab, and generally safe.
