Forecast Snow Stability: Dry cold and settled conditions will maintain a stable limited snowpack which will be firm and icy in many areas. Localised surface instabilities may form on the steepest slopes where affected by solar warming, these areas will generally be avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Cool and dry and settled conditions will continue to affect the area overnight and on Sunday. Generally calm conditions are expected with the freezing level around 500-600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Cold, dry and settled conditions are affecting the area. Winds have been light generally Northerly, freezing at all levels overnight with daytime freezing levels around 700 metres. Spells of sunshine. ObservedSnowStability: The old snowpack which mainly exists in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries is generally stable and remains firm and icy in most areas. Localised surface instabilities exist on the steepest slopes were affected by solar warming, these areas are in the main avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
