Forecast Snow Stability: Weak windslab will develop on steep, mainly North-Easterly aspects above 850m. There will also be some cross-loading on steep North and East facing gully flanks and exits. Some new cornice development is expected above many of these locations. Good stability on wind scoured aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry and cold overnight. There will be snow showers from dawn onwards, these potentially heavy at times during the day. With the arrival of fresh snow, the light West-South-Westerly airflow will freshen Southerly, before moderating to South-Westerly, as the day progresses. It will remain cold with the freezing level below 500 metres throughout. Observed Weather Influences: Cold. There have been recent snow showers in light mainly North Westerly winds. Today has been a cool and dry day, with prolonged sunny periods later in the day. ObservedSnowStability: There is a light general cover of fresh soft snow at all elevations. Accumulations to date have not achieved any significant depths and are largely cosmetic. Recent accumulations have fallen in generally light winds and whilst cover is widespread from 300 metres no evidence of any significant build ups, or drifted snow were noted. The avalanche hazard is Low
