The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. This applies in particular above approximately 2500 m. Medium-sized and large dry and moist avalanches are possible. The avalanche prone locations are sometimes covered with new snow and are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. In particular on steep shady slopes the avalanches can be released in deep layers of the snowpack and reach large size.

Some snow will fall. The new snow is lying on soft layers in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. In addition avalanche prone wind slabs will form in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain as the day progresses. Individual weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in shady places that are protected from the wind, in particular at high altitude.
