Snowpack Structure

In some places new snow and wind slabs are lying on old snow containing large grains. This applies especially on shady slopes as well as, along the border with France. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise from early morning to increasing moistening of the snowpack in some places on sunny slopes. Sunny slopes: As a consequence of falling temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack will consolidate.

Avalanche Activity

Wet avalanches as the day progresses.

The mostly small wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases. This applies in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain in particular at intermediate and high altitudes. As a consequence of the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase a little on very steep sunny slopes at elevated altitudes. The new snow and wind slabs of the weekend can be released, especially by large additional loads, especially on very steep sunny slopes at elevated altitudes.
