GC 29/03 Dry calm. Snowpack generally stable, firm and icy surface possible in shaded recesses and gullies. Avalanche hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: Greatest deposits of snow will exist in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries and gullies. The snowpack will be generally stable throughout with a firm surface possible in shaded recesses and gullies, mainly above 1000 metres. Remaining cornices will be suspect. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry with light to moderate variable Northerly winds. The freezing level will lower to around 1100 metres by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: After a cooler night with frost, today was sunny with the freezing level well above the summits. Winds have been light to moderate, generally North-Easterly. ObservedSnowStability: The slow general thaw continues to affect the area giving good snowpack stability. Shaded areas above 1000 metres retain a firm and icy surface in places, with a marked softening occurring on slopes affected by solar radiation. The avalanche hazard is Low.
