NC for 23/03. Dry and warm. Snowpack generally stable. Any remaining cornices prone to collapse in mild conditions. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The spring snowpack will continue to thaw and consolidate. Some surface wet snow instabilities will exist on steep slopes exposed to the full strength of the sun, particularly during the afternoon. Any remaining sections of cornice will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Little change is expected in the weather. It will remain dry and mild with long sunny periods during the day. The freezing level will be above the summits. Moderate winds will be from the South. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with long sunny spells. Light winds from the South. Temperatures above freezing even on the highest tops. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack was quite firm early morning, but softened in all locations through the day. Although some surface minor instabilities developed on steep slopes exposed to the sunshine, stability is generally good. Remaining cornices are slumping in the mild conditions, and are prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Low.
