Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of fresh unstable windslab will develop on mainly North-East to South-East aspects above 650 metres. Most affected will be wind-sheltered locations such as gully tops, corrie rims, crag aprons and ridge flanks. North and South aspects will also be affected due to cross loading. Cornices will develop above same aspects. Wind exposed slopes will be scoured. Elsewhere the snowpack will be well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Showers throughout the forecast period, heaviest around dawn, falling as snow above 500 metres, then above 300 metres by mid morning. Light Westerly winds, strengthening overnight to reach gale force by day break. The freezing level will fluctuate between 400 and 500 metres.

Observed Weather Influences: A dry and bright start, quickly deteriorating with the onset of light precipitation mid morning, falling as snow above 600 metres. Heavy precipitation in the afternoon. The freezing level rose from 450 metres overnight, to around 800 metres during the day. Light to moderate winds, predominately from the South. ObservedSnowStability: Instabilities exist within the windslab on West through North to South-East aspects above 700 metres. Locations most affected are wind sheltered locations such as crag aprons, gully tops and corrie rims. Below 700 metres the snow cover is thawing and moist, but generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
