Forecast Snow Stability: While softening and thawing at all levels the snow pack will remain well bonded and generally stable. Avoidable wet snow instabilities will begin to develop, affecting very steep terrain above 800 meters where the older snow pack has gained depth, mainly on high North through East to Southerly aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The high pressure will maintain dry and settled conditions. The fresh South-South-East winds will reduce in strength this evening veering through South, becoming light South- South-West. The freezing level will be around 1300 to 1400 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry, bright and sunny day. Winds have been fresh South-South-Easterly. The freezing level was around summit levels. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack remains generally well bonded and stable with some surface softening of the snow on all aspects. Best snow cover remains on North-West through East to South aspects above 700 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
