It's early season conditions out there. Watch out for hidden hazards; rocks, trees and stumps lie just below the surface.

Alpine Climbers and Ice Climbers - be mindful of wind slabs and snow loaded features.

The early season snowpack is quite variable, ranging from areas that are snow free, to gullies and lee features that are snow loaded. Expect wind slabs where deeper pockets of snow exist.

On glaciers, crevasses are hidden by thin snow bridges.  Roping up, diligent probing, and experience are critical for glacier travel.

Early season conditions exist with new snow in the alpine around the Icefields.
