Avalanche Summary
Most slopes are safe from avalanches. You might be able to trigger a small loose avalanche on very steep, shady slopes. Although small they can still knock you off your feet and drag you down a slope. If your feet, skis, or machine are sinking deep into the snow and almost to the ground then avoid traveling on slopes steeper than about 40 degrees with terrain traps such as a creek or a cliff below you.
