In sintesi

Low hazard does not mean there is no hazard. The snowpack is mostly stable except for isoalted pockets of wind slab. Watch out for areas of unstable snow in very steep or extreme terrain, especially during the warmest portion of the day.

Isolated pockets of wind slab six to 18 inches in depth could be triggered by humans who venture into very steep couloirs and cliff areas. Sunshine and increasing temperatures will increase the sensitivity of these shallow slabs to human triggers.

Avalanche Discussion

Skies will be mostly clear overnight with temperatures forecast to drop to near 10 degrees in the mountains and in the valleys. On Sunday skies will be clear in the morning and are expected to be overcast by evening as a weather system dropping southward from Montana moves towards the region. Daytime temperatures will rise into the upper 20s and 30s in the mountains ahead of this approaching system. West winds will be on the increase and veering towards the northwest at speeds of 15 to 25 miles per hour with higher gusts. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the Teton Area and below an elevation of 8,000 feet in the other forecast areas. Lingering potential for deep slab instabilities is isolated areas will keep the hazard MODERTAE above an elevation of 8,000 feet in the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and the Southwest Trails/Greys River areas.
