The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Winds and overnight snow have created easily triggered soft slabs to a foot in depth on steep, lee slopes that will increase in size with additional snow during the day. South facing slopes with sun crusts will hold the potential for sloughs that could build to dangerous depths on steep, higher elevation slopes.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. ) Another storm system will bring heavier snow and westerly winds to western Wyoming Monday night into Tuesday morning. Snowfall will be light during the day Tuesday then the winds will again increase and back to southwesterly. Tuesday morning temperatures will be in the low teens then rise to the mid twenties during the day. New snow will drift onto lee slopes where easily triggered slabs to a foot in depth are expected. The avalanche hazard is forecasted to be Moderate above 8500 feet in the mountains of western Wyoming Tuesday.
