The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Recent snow and strong winds have formed surface slabs in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain. Skiers and riders have the potential to trigger pockets of these slabs today to depths of two feet, particularly in higher terrain where the most wind loading has occurred. As the day progresses the chance to trigger new snow sluffs and shallow surface slabs will also increase. While many slopes can be tracked without incident, watch for warning signs such recent activity or obvious wind loading and follow safe techniques including never putting more than one person on a slope at any time.
