The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE. Areas of unstable snow exist where strong southwesterly winds continue to build slabs along ridgecrests and cross-loaded slopes. On northerly slopes, these slabs lie upon old, faceted, October snow. Backcountry travelers could trigger these slabs to depths of two feet in steep, wind-loaded starting zones.
