We are several days into a good melt / freeze cycle. Loose wet avalanches will be unlikey... but remain possible on sunny slopes at and below treeline. Watch for signs of loose wet avalanches like roller balls, or wet snow that you sink in over your boot tops. Cornices are very large right now and they are starting to break off. Stear clear of them from above and below.
A solid freeze tonight and light winds tomorrow should moderate any loose wet activity and keep it on the small side... however! If you find yourself on a sunny slope, and you are sinking to your boot tops... this is a sign you could initiate a wet loose slide. Move to an aspect with less sun.
The warm spell last week initiated some very large conices breaks. Some of them are massive right now. With the temps kicking up again on Sunday, give them respect and space from above and below. Cornices are not the only objective hazard. Today in Broken Top crater I saw several rocks come tumbing down.
