In sintesi

Slight increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches from early morning.

Problemi valanghivi

  • Wet snow

    • Above 2,300 m

Tendency

The sleet will give rise as the day progresses to rapid moistening of the snowpack over a wide area. As a consequence of sharply rising temperatures and rain up to the high Alpine regions a precarious avalanche situation will develop on Sunday.

Avalanche Activity

Slight increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches from early morning.

As a consequence of sharply rising temperatures and partly cloudy skies a sometimes precarious avalanche situation will develop. As the moisture increases moist and wet avalanches are possible from the late morning, but they will be mostly small. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls and in steep rocky terrain. The old wind slabs will become increasingly prone to triggering especially on near-ridge shady slopes above approximately 2700 m.

Snowpack Structure

The surface of the snowpack will cool hardly at all during the overcast night and will already be soft in the early morning. The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack over a wide area also at intermediate and high altitudes. In some places relatively hard layers of snow are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack.
