Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs represent the main danger. In some regions a little new snow.

The wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in all aspects above approximately 1600 m. At transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example the likelihood of avalanches being released is greater. In particular on steep slopes mostly small avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is favourably layered; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow. In addition wind slabs formed also adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in all aspects.

Tendency

In some regions wind and new snow.
