Forecast Snow Stability: Surface layers of the patchy snow will initially be firm, gradually softening through the day. Greatest amounts of snow will be found in high North to East facing corries and around the higher Cairngorm tops above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A cloudy but dry day is expected. Cold overnight with the freezing level lifting to above the summits during the day. Initially Southerly winds, veering South-South-West in the morning; moderate in strength throughout. Observed Weather Influences: Cold overnight, followed by a warm Spring day. Freezing level rose above the summits with light winds from the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snow is soft but well bonded and stable. Greatest amounts are found in high North to East facing corries and around the higher Cairngorm tops above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
