Avalanche Activity

The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to rapid moistening of the snowpack.

The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust only at high altitudes and will soften during the day. On very steep sunny slopes the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches will increase during the day.
