New snow
- Above 1,500 m
Above approximately 1200 m snow will fall in some localities. This snow will be deposited on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack at intermediate and high altitudes. Places where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are unfavourable. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on steep slopes at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.

In high Alpine regions and in the regions with a lot of snow the avalanche danger is moderate (level 2). Especially on steep slopes and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized dry slab avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. At low and intermediate altitudes the snowpack is well bonded. The sleet will give rise in the afternoon to moistening of the snowpack especially in the Prealps at low and intermediate altitudes.
