Forecast Snow Stability: In general the snowpack will be soft, moist and stable in most areas, but wet snow instabilities will form as a period of heavier rain affects all levels in the morning. Areas most affected will be sheltered gullies and steep slopes with a North through East to South-Easterly aspect mainly above 900 metres. Drier and cooler conditions later will aid the consolidation process and improve overall stability. Any remaining cornices will be suspect. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light rain will affect all levels overnight when the freezing level remains above the summits; rain will become heavier in the morning. Cooler conditions in the afternoon will give some very light snow showers on the higher tops. Winds will be fresh to strong South-Westerly for much of the time, veering North-North-Westerly in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: There has been a return to mild conditions overnight and today with light rain and drizzle affecting all levels. Winds have been moderate to fresh generally Westerly. The freezing level is above the summits.
