As a consequence of, heavy snowfall and the moderate easterly wind, an unfavourable avalanche situation developed. The fresh wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and in the vicinity of peaks. They are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible. Backcountry touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection. Natural avalanches: Already in the early morning, dry and wet avalanches are possible. In the event of an overcast night this applies in particular. In particular from starting zones at higher altitudes large natural avalanches, capable of reaching a long way in some cases, must be expected in isolated cases.

50 to 90 cm of snow has fallen since Sunday above approximately 2000 m. The easterly wind has transported some snow. A lot of snow is lying at intermediate and high altitudes. The weather was cloudy. Medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large moist and wet avalanches have been released as a consequence of warming.

Some snow will fall on Friday. The avalanche danger will persist.
