Avalanche Activity

Increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the precipitation.

The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses. In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas small and medium-sized avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation. The new snow and wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in all aspects.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of snowfall and the strong southwesterly wind, fresh snow drift accumulations will form. The new snow and wind slabs will be deposited on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in particular on shady slopes above approximately 1800 m.

Tendency

Over a wide area intensive precipitation. Strong southwesterly wind.
