Forecast Snow Stability: New snow amounts are not expected to be significant mainly a light dusting above 1000 metres, occurring mainly at the end of the afternoon. The remaining old patchy snow cover will continue to thaw then consolidate has cooler conditions take effect. Stability will be good in new and old accumulations in most locations. Largest areas will remain on sheltered North-East and East aspects above 850 metres, mainly in gullies and around coire rims. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will rise to around 1500 metres before lowering to near 1200 metres by the end of the period. Precipitation will fall mostly as rain with some sleet or light snow over the highest summits. Winds will be strong throughout and mainly West-South-Westerly. Observed Weather Influences: Today was almost a mirror image of yesterday with low clouds and drizzle. The freezing level was above the highest summits with moderate South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining moist, patchy snow cover is well bonded and generally stable throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
