( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. ) A Pacific system will continue to increase and lower clouds over the region bringing light snow to the mid and upper elevations starting after midnight and continue through Monday. Rain/snow mix is forecasted for the valley floors Monday afternoon. Mountain temperatures will rise from the upper teens Monday morning to the upper twenties in the afternoon. The valley floors will see high temperatures in the upper thirties. Ridge crest winds will be westerly at thirty M.P.H. with gusts to sixty.For the Teton Area the general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE at the upper elevations, LOW at the mid elevations and LOW at the lower elevations with a possibility of rising to Moderate if the precipitation is mostly rain. At the upper elevations soft surface slabs to a foot in depth could be human triggered on very steep slopes and in cliff areas. The general avalanche hazard in the Togwotee Pass/Continental Divide and Greys River/Southwest Trails Areas is expected to be LOW. The snowpack is mostly stable but any periods of rain could increase the chance of wet-loose slides on steep, lower elevation slopes.
