In sintesi

The avalanche danger at the mid and upper elevations is Low today. Avalanches are unlikely. The low elevations lack enough snow for a danger rating. The snowpack has been through multiple days of melt/freeze and it has been well over a week since the last loading event/snowfall. Early season conditions exist. Be aware of rocks and trees just below the snow surface when travelling in the mountains today.

Avalanche Discussion

A cold front on Saturday night will bring a chance of light snowfall to the mountains. Dry and mild conditions are on tap until that front arrives. Tomorrow’s highs will rise into the 30’s and 40’s. Winds will increase with gusts from 35 to 45 miles per hour by the evening hours. The general avalanche hazard is low on steep snow-covered slopes. This snowpack does not have a history of producing avalanches. Normal caution is advised.
