Forecast Snow Stability: Much of the existing snow be firm with the continuing colder conditions. Stability will generally remain good on all but the steepest slopes affected by solar warming where shallow surface instabilities will remain a possibility, cornices will also be suspect in these areas. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry, clear and with variable moderate to fresh winds. The freezing level by morning will be around 300 metres rising through the course of the day to 700 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A light dusting of new snow fell on higher slopes overnight, today has been dry and sunny at times. Winds have been fresh generally North-Easterly. The freezing level is around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is mainly to be found in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries, cooler conditions today are maintaining good general stability. Isolated areas of soft windslab exist in sheltered gullies but these are easily avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
