Avalanche Activity

Snowpack is thoroughly wet at intermediate altitudes

Avalanche danger above 1500m is moderate. Main danger: wet snow. On very steep slopes which have not yet discharged, small-to-medium sized loose-snow avalanches can trigger naturally. On steep slopes where the ground is smooth, in addition, small-to-medium sized wet glide-snow avalanches are possible. Glide cracks are indicators of imminent danger.

Snowpack Structure

Temperatures are receding somewhat, but the snowapc is still thoroughly wet down to the ground at intermediate altitudes. At high altitudes, snowfall accompanied by strong winds is expected. Small snowdrift patches are unlikely to trigger. Below 1500m, also on shady slopes, there is hardly any snow on the ground.

Tendency

As a result of precipitation and lower temperatures, the wet-snow problem will recede at the start of next week, the fresh-snow / snowdrift problem will come to the forefront.
