Forecast Snow Stability: Moderately bonded snow will persist above 900 metres, in wind sheltered locations on mainly North-West to North-East aspects. More localised accumulations will be encountered on West and East aspects. Elsewhere and below 900 metres the snow will be generally well bonded and stable. New snow accumulations are not expected to become significant. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Very light snowfall throughout the day on light, generally North-Easterly winds. 400 metre freezing level overnight, rising to 600 metres during the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A dry, bright day with light, generally Southerly winds. Cold throughout, with -3 degrees centigrade recorded at 950 metres at midday. ObservedSnowStability: Below 900 metres the snow is generally well bonded and stable on all aspects. Above 900 metres moderately bonded snow can be found on North-West to North-East aspects and to a much lesser extent on West and East aspects. Deepest accumulations are present in wind sheltered locations such as gully tops and around steeper corrie rims. Small cornices are present. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
