Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to be deposited in wind sheltered areas. Greatest accumulations will be on West through North to East aspects above 800 metres. South-West aspects will also be affected. Fragile cornices will continue to build above these aspects. Windswept slopes will be generally scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be very strong mainly East-South-Easterly overnight, gradually easing through the morning and becoming light to moderate Westerly for the afternoon. Snow is expected above 600 metres overnight, with snow showers above 700 metres during the day. The freezing level will be 700 metres overnight, gradually rising during the day to around 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were gale or storm force, South-Westerly during early morning and Southerly from mid-morning onwards. Overnight snowfall above around 500 metres continued during the morning above 700 metres. The afternoon was mainly dry. The freezing level rose to around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There was significant transportation of snow. Unstable windslab has been, and continued to be, deposited in wind sheltered areas, mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 800 metres.
