Forecast Snow Stability: Poorly bonded windslab will continue to accumulate throughout the forecast period on mainly North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Steep wind sheltered locations such as coire rims, gully tops and ridge flanks will be particularly affected, where deepening drifts will contain instabilities. New cornices will be fragile and prone to collapse. Outwith these locations new snow will lie on bare ground; wind exposed slopes will be icy. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be around 300 metres. Snow is expected above 200 metres for the duration of the forecast period. Winds will be gale force and mainly from the West, veering West-North-Westerly in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A day of blustery showers falling initially as rain followed later by sleet and snow. The freezing level gradually lowered from 900 metres to 200 metres by the end of the day. Winds were gale force and mainly West-South-Westerly veering Westerly in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Poorly bonded windslab continued to accumulate through the day on North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. Windslab instabilities are greatest where accumulations have achieved depth, most particularly in steep wind sheltered locations such as coire rims, scarp slopes and ridge flanks. Outwith these locations superficial thawing snow lies above 350 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
