Forecast Snow Stability: With only trace amounts of new snow expected general snowpack stability will remain good. A slow gradual thaw will affect most areas through the day. Areas of older windslab will remain in sheltered summit gully exits and around corrie rims with a mainly North-West through North to North-Easterly aspect above 1000 metres. Any cornices in these areas will remain suspect. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be very light scattered snow showers mainly above 1000 metres. Winds will be fresh South-South-Easterly veering South-Westerly through the course of the day. Overnight freezing level will be at 900 metres rising to 1100 metres by day. Observed Weather Influences: New snow and South-Easterly winds overnight affected slopes mainly above 800 metres. Today has been mostly dry with fresh Southerly winds. The freezing level through the day rose above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: In the main the snowpack is stable. Greater than expected amounts of new snow overnight at higher levels formed areas of moderately bonded windslab in wind sheltered locations mainly above 950 meters. Greatest accumulations are in sheltered summit gully exits and on corrie rims with a North-West to North-Easterly aspect. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
