In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard at all elevations is LOW this morning with cold overnight temperatures and well bonded new snow. The hazard will increase to MODERATE at upper elevations as sunshine warms the snow and wet-loose slides are triggered by backcountry travelers or snow falling from cornices or cliff areas. Stay out of steep chutes where debris is concentrated in the afternoon. Special Note: Sunday will be the last Avalanche Advisory of the season. Thanks to all of our sponsors and donors, large and small.

Avalanche Discussion

The first in a series of systems will move into the area Saturday night into Sunday bringing light to moderate snowfall. Sunday morning lows will be near twenty then rise to the mid twenties during the day. Winds will be northwesterly Saturday night then southwesterly Sunday at 10 to 15 m.p.h.Sun crusts from Saturday should cap all sunlit slopes Sunday morning. Any sun breaks will rapidly heat new snow and soften crusts creating a chance for user triggered wet-loose slides. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Low Sunday.
