As new snow gets wet on Thursday, wet avalanches will become easy to trigger. These avalanches can be powerful, difficult to escape, and may carry you through rocks or over cliffs. Natural wet avalanches are also likely as the sun heats the snow. Avoid steep terrain where the snow is becoming moist and slides easily on crusts below.

Increasing west to northwest winds will also create sensitive wind drifts in areas with colder snow. Watch for wind-loaded slopes, especially on easterly aspects, and avoid steep terrain where snow is actively drifting.
