Forecast Snow Stability: Large areas of fresh unstable windslab will be formed in sheltered locations. Greatest accumulations will be on steep North-West, North and North-East aspects above 1000 metres. Avalanches are likely in these locations. Fresh unstable cornices will also form above these aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.
Forecast Weather Influences: Significant fresh snow is expected above 600 metres overnight, becoming more showery during Wednesday. Strong Southerly winds are also expected. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight and during the morning there were some snow showers above 600 metres. Winds were light to moderate from the West. ObservedSnowStability: A light dusting of fresh snow is present above 700 metres, but it mainly overlies bare ground. In high North and East facing corries, where old snow exists, recent fresh accumulations are not significant in depth. Snowpack stability is generally good. The avalanche hazard is Low.
