As a consequence of new snow and a moderate wind from northerly directions, sometimes deep wind slabs formed adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls as well as above the tree line. These can in some places be released by a single winter sport participant. Additionally avalanches can also be released in deep layers and reach very large size. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible in isolated cases. The wind slabs are to be avoided in particular in very steep terrain. Maintaining distances between individuals is recommended. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist snow slides and avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even medium-sized ones.

The new snow and wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack in some places. Avalanche prone weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on steep, rather lightly snow-covered shady slopes. The weather conditions will facilitate a gradual settling of the snowpack in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on rocky sunny slopes.
