  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,100 m
  • Wet snow

    • 1,900 m–2,500 m

Avalanche Activity

The fresh wind slabs will become increasingly prone to triggering.

The new snow of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant. The fresh wind slabs are mostly small and can only be released in isolated cases. The avalanche prone locations are sometimes covered with new snow and are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility.

Snowpack Structure

20 to 30 cm of snow fell in the last few days above approximately 2400 m. The new snow is lying on top of a quite favourable old snowpack. As a consequence of the moderate wind, the snow drift accumulations will increase in size. The new snow of the last few days is lying on a crust on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 2300 m.
