Forecast Snow Stability: The snow will be generally well bonded and stable. Deeper accumulations will be encountered in wind sheltered locations on West through North to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Later in the day, shallow windslab will form on North to East aspects above 700 metres but amounts are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Light rain at all levels during the early evening, followed by light snowfall above 600 metres through the day. Moderate South-Westerly winds during the morning, veering Westerly, as they increase to become strong. Freezing level briefly above all summits during the early evening, falling fairly quickly to settle at 700 metres for the rest of the period. Observed Weather Influences: After a dry morning, very light snowfall to all levels, arrived by early afternoon. Moderate South-Easterly winds at summit level. Freezing level fluctuating between 1200 metres and 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Patchy cover below 900 metres. Above this altitude, localised areas of moderately bonded snow are present on West through North to North-East aspects. Greatest amounts have accumulated in steeper, wind sheltered locations on North-West and North aspects, with small cornices present. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
