The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas above approximately 2700 m and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Dry avalanches can be released, mostly by large additional loads, especially on very steep slopes on shady slopes. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust.
Above approximately 2200 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying. In particular in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 1 (low) a little snow is lying in all altitude zones. Very cold valley floors for same days and mild temperatures as you rise in altitude. Locally, on steep sunny slopes, the snow has moistened. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface during the last four days. Towards its base, the snowpack is largely stable.
In some localities a little new snow. The wind will be strong adjacent to ridgelines. The danger will increase a little during the day.
