You could still trigger a cohesive slab of wind-drifted snow on the leeward terrain near and above treeline. Strong to extreme winds in the last 24 hours have built a slab capable of large to very large avalanches. As the wind changes direction and decreases in speed, natural activity will become less likely. However, human-triggered avalanches big enough to bury you remain likely on wind-loaded slopes. Avoid leeward terrain steeper than about 30 degrees. Surface clues such as recent cornice development, drifted snow, a textured surface, shooting cracks, and collapsing in the new snow will indicate you have found areas of concern. Sticking to sheltered, low-angle terrain will help you to avoid this problem.
