In sintesi

At the higher elevations, above 8,500 feet, skiers and riders have a chance to trigger isolated pockets of surface slab with depths of six to eighteen inches as well as a remote chance to trigger deeper, hard slab avalanches. Avalanches are unlikely below an elevation of 8,500 feet.

    Layers of buried faceted snow persist in the snowpack. Although unlikely, the chance persists for humans to trigger large hard slab avalanches with depths that could reach over three feet upon the deepest of these layers. Areas where these weaknesses may be found are steep avalanche paths that have not seen much traffic throughout the season, particularly those with northerly aspects. Larger triggers such as snowmobiles or groups of skiers may be necessary to initiate failure of these slabs.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Skies are expected to be partly cloudy overnight. Clouds will increase during the day and light snow is likely to develop in the mountains by evening. Temperatures will be in the single digits at day break and will rise into the 20s in the mountains and to near freezing in the valleys. Winds will be southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.The snowpack is mostly stable. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the Teton and the Greys River/Southwest Trails areas were isolated pockets of shallow wind slab are a potential hazard and MODERATE at the higher elevations of the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass area where deeper slabs lie upon a mostly dormant layer of buried surface hoar.
