Before the heat of the day, the general avalanche hazard is MODERATE at the high elevation and LOW below 9,000 feet. As temperatures increase and the sun begins to affect the snowpack, the avalanche hazard will increase to MODERATE at all elevations. On sunlit aspects, surface wet slides could sweep skiers or riders over cliff bands, or bury them in terrain traps. If clear skies prevail throughout the day, the chance of wet slides will increase in likelihood and volume. On shaded aspects above 9,000 feet, soft slabs up to 2 feet in depth could be triggered in steep wind loaded terrain.

A warm Pacific airmass under a ridge of high pressure remains over the area. A weak disturbance will bring increasing clouds and possibly some flurries or very light snowfall overnight. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the teens, before rising to near freezing in the mountains, and close to 40 in valley on Monday.
