In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is LOW. Above 9,000 feet, isolated pockets of dense slab up to 18 inches deep lie upon weak, old snow surfaces. Some potential persists for backcountry travelers to trigger these slabs in steep, wind-loaded starting zones. Below 9,000 feet, the snowpack is shallow and avalanche activity is unlikely.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A moist, west-northwesterly flow aloft is forecasted to move over the region on Sunday bringing increasing mid-level clouds, along with a slight chance of flurries to the mountains. Westerly ridgetop winds should vary from 15 to 20 mile per hour. Mountain temperatures are expected to dip into the teens overnight before rising to near 20 on Sunday. The valley should see lows in the single digits, then rebound into the upper 20s later in the day. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Backcountry travelers should avoid steep, upper-elevation, northerly aspects where isolated pockets of dense slab up to two feet in depth lie upon old, October snow.
