Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining wet snowpack will continue to consolidate and be well bonded and stable on all aspects and elevations. It will firm up slightly in the drier and cooler conditions. Greatest accumulations will be on North to East aspects above 850 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: A little light rain is possible this evening, then tonight and through Sunday it will be mainly dry and cloudy. The freezing level will be at or around summit levels throughout the period. Winds will be mainly South-Westerly and be fresh to strong. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cloudy and overcast day with occasional rain and mist on the tops. The freezing level remained above the summits. There was a strong, West-South-Westerly wind.
ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snowpack has become saturated with rain, but it remains well bonded and stable on all aspects and at all elevations. Greatest accumulations remain on North to East aspects above 850 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
