Avalanche Activity

On very steep sunny slopes the likelihood of avalanches being released is greater. The wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in all aspects.

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation more ground avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even medium-sized ones. In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized dry slab avalanches are possible. In addition there is a danger of moist loose snow avalanches.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is largely stable.
