New snow and wind slabs above approximately 2000 m.

20 to 30 cm of snow will fall until Saturday above approximately 2300 m, in particular in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 4 (high). As a consequence of new snow and a strong wind from westerly directions, avalanche prone wind slabs formed since Friday above the tree line. In particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain the prevalence and size of these avalanche prone locations will increase by the evening,, also at a distance from ridgelines. The fresh snow and the mostly small wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger. As the day progresses small and medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are possible. These can release the wet old snow as well and reach medium size in some cases.

Less snow than usual is lying. 5 to 10 cm of snow fell on Friday above approximately 2300 m. This applies in the early morning. The snowpack will be moist, also in all aspects below approximately 2800 m. The old snowpack will be wet all the way through below approximately 2300 m. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.

The avalanche danger will persist.
