New snow and wind slabs require caution.

The strong wind has transported the new snow and, in some cases, old snow as well. In particular in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation as well as at intermediate and high altitudes sometimes easily released wind slabs formed. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant above approximately 2400 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in steep terrain at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions and at transitions into gullies and bowls,, but in isolated cases also at a distance from ridgelines. The avalanche danger in particular in the regions exposed to precipitation is within the uppermost range of danger level 2 (moderate).

Over a wide area 15 to 25 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until the early morning above approximately 2200 m. Intermediate and high altitudes in places that are protected from the wind: Towards its surface, the snowpack is dry; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow. In particular below approximately 2000 m: As a consequence of falling temperatures and rain a crust formed on the surface. Isolated avalanche prone weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in areas where the snow cover is rather shallow. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
