In sintesi
The majority of the terrain along the Manti Skyline has a LOW avalanche danger. Continue to watch for fresh drifts on steep slopes in the upper elevations where it's possible one might crack out on you.
Snow and Weather
Things seem pretty stable out there right now. My partner and I found some wind drifts from a few days ago but no freshly formed drifts from the last couple of days. We did not experience any cracking in any of the drifts we prodded. We did not experience any collapsing (whoomping) of the snowpack. I have not experienced any collapsing since early December. We did not see any new avalanche activity. The last significant avalanche was one I triggered on Dec 2nd.
Weather Outlook:
We'll see mostly cloudy skies today. Tuesday looks like we'll actually see some sun. We are still looking at a storm for later Wednesday and through Thursday. The current model runs look better for snow totals than the previous runs. Right now I'm seeing 8 to 12 inches of new snow by the end of the storm.
