After the passage of a frontal system associated with a pressure low, up to 20 cm of new snow was added during the last period of snowfall in the mountains of Slovakia at the highest altitudes. During Sunday, the weather in the Slovak mountains will be influenced by the pressure high, which will bring nice relatively warm weather. In all mountain ranges above the forest line there is a SMALL avalanche danger - the first degree of the five-part international scale. The avalanche danger will be mainly in places where the snow is packed into smaller snow slabs and pillows. Such places will be located in all orientations due to changes in wind direction, but the danger will be especially on the leeward sides of ridges, peaks and terrain obstacles. Avalanches will be released by large additional loads, and their danger will be mainly from shearing of the casualty into exposed terrain.

During the last period of snowfall, up to 20 cm of new snow was added in the highest altitudes of the Slovak mountains. More snow is naturally found above the forest belt. Most of the snow is on the leeward sides of the mountains of all exposures. Here it is also possible to find smaller slabs and snow pillows, which may lie on a layer of old hardened frozen snow, or on a layer of compacted grassy mat (Fatra). During Sunday, warm weather will cause a gradual melting of the snow cover at lower altitudes.
